Join us at New Jersualem Lutheran Church in Lovettsville for a hands-on learning experience with experts in the field of cemetery strategic planning, documentation, preservation, and cemetery landscaping.

This is a one-day course that begins at 9:30a.m. and ends by 4:00p.m. Lunch will be provided. The topics being covered are below:

1. Why cemetery conservation is important, including a brief history of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church cemetery.
2. How to create a five-year work plan for the cemetery of interest including:
3. Pre-requisite research, documentation and photographs.
4. Identifying the type of conditions of gravestones for future priority for restoration.
5. Identifying landscape conditions which require remedial work.
6. Recommend priority actions, timing and budget.
7. Multiple cemetery walkthroughs focusing on the details necessary for a five-year plan.
