Following the course\, participants will be ready to undertake\, under experienced supervision\, a five-year work plan for the cemetery of interest. The main topics being covered during the course are: \n\nWhy cemetery conservation is important\, including a brief history of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church cemetery.\nHow to create a five-year work plan for the cemetery of interest including:\n\nPre-requisite research\, documentation and photographs.\nIdentifying the type of conditions of gravestones for future priority for restoration.\nIdentifying landscape conditions which require remedial work.\nRecommend priority actions\, timing and budget.\n\n\nMultiple cemetery walkthroughs focusing on the details necessary for a five-year plan.

SUMMARY:Cemetery Training Session\, February 22
DESCRIPTION:Thank you all for your participation in the upcoming training event on February 22nd. This is the first training session the Loudoun Cemetery Conservancy is hosting\, and we are very much looking forward to it. Here are a few reminders prior to the event. \nThe training course is from 9a.m.-4p.m and is located at Ketoctin Baptist Church in Purcellville at 16595 Ketoctin Church Rd\, Purcellville VA\, 20132. The parking lot is at the side of the church\, the entrance continues left. It is not the narrow driveway that runs up right next to the church. \n\nCoffee and donuts will be available in the morning\, and a boxed lunch will be served around 1p.m. No snacks are provided so please bring your own if needed. If you have any dietary restrictions such as gluten free or vegetarian/vegan\, please let me know NO LATER than February 17. After February 17 no further changes can be made.\nA training notebook that coincides with the program will be provided for notes\, along with a pen. An outline of the schedule of the course will be provided upon arrival.\nPlease dress according to the weather.
